Literature Text

What would I give you, if I could ...

I would give you your heart, I would give you your courage
And I would remind you that you are nothing less than
The living expression of the love of thousands of your
Ancestors who dreamed of you (I swear they did)

And smiled in their sleep

And I would remind you that you are beautiful
Stunning even, just for being the totality that is
You ...and that is all you ever will have to be, because
There never was a judgment ...and never will be

There is only love and that's all, everything

I would see you understand that sorrows are fleeting
If you are willing to let them fade, and burn out, without guilt
Like the stub of a candle, done and gone, and you
Are always allowed to be happy again, every time

I would tell you your happiness is a sacred thing

I would give you all this, if I thought you would hear
Me ...if I thought it would comfort you to know ...I would
Tell you right now, if I though you were ready, and if I
Thought you would believe me and this was your need

But you are locked in sorrow, here ...so I will
Hold you close, and hope the knowledge that I love you
Is enough

I don't know that I can find the words to express how this has touched me. A wonderful piece to be sure. Thank you.
